How we research our routes

Every route starts with the map and the practicalities: how far you can comfortably drive in a day, where you can legally and safely park a van overnight, which roads are sealed and which need a 4WD, and when the weather actually cooperates. We cross-check distances and conditions against state road authorities and national park sources, and we date every guide so you know how current it is.
